Our sincere advice and encouragement to grandparents:

DO attend a homeschooling convention WITH the parents of your grandchildren! This is not a time for you to baby-sit, but to GO! You will be blessed beyond your wildest imaginations! We can attest to that. After more than two decades of attending homeschooling conventions as parents, and now as grandparents, these conferences still are amazingly inspirational and foundational in our daily lives.

Consider this: Give your children a gift by paying for the conference children’s program for your grandchildren, or enlist the services of a trusted friend from their church or community to care for your grandchildren so that you and their parents can attend the conference together. It is THAT important. You will catch a vision and excitement that you’ve never known.

Nearly every state and locality across the nation has an annual homeschooling conference nearby, as well as smaller local events and workshops throughout the year. Attend them all as often as you can. You will never regret attending a homeschooling conference. You’ll hear speakers sharing from their hearts in every subject area imaginable, and you’ll be overwhelmed with the extraordinary array of top-notch resources in the curriculum halls. As frosting on the cake, chatting one-on-one with other conference attendees benefits everyone as you share valuable insights, ideas and experiences.

Most importantly — as you head to the conference, don’t forget to load your wallet or smart phone with photos of those adorable grandkids!
