Statement of Faith

Very simply — We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

More specifically, we believe:

•  The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God. It is the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of man and the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and life.

•  Every human being by nature is sinful and thus separated from God.

•  Jesus Christ, is God’s Son, who came to earth in the flesh, was born of a virgin, was tempted in everything we are tempted in, and yet never sinned. The perfect and holy Christ was killed by crucifixion, was buried, and on the third day literally rose bodily from the dead. His death was the substitutionary atonement for our sins; His resurrection was the seal of his conquering death.

•  Salvation is exclusively by faith alone in Jesus Christ and his shed blood that was shed to pay the penalty for our sins. It is unmerited. There is no amount of good works we can do to attain salvation; as scripture says, our good works are like filthy rags. Our faith is exhibited through repentance and God’s grace is manifested in His forgiveness.

•  The Holy Spirit indwells and sanctifies those who trust in Christ for salvation, to guide and direct them in daily life.

•  Jesus Christ will come again for His Church.

•  Christ’s Church (those who have trusted in Him alone for their salvation) are described in Scripture as the Bride of Christ. God’s institution of marriage as a union between one man and one woman is a symbolic picture of that relationship between Christ and His Church.

•  There is a forthcoming day of judgement after which those who have trusted in Christ for their salvation will have eternal life in Heaven with Him, and those who have rejected Him will suffer eternal punishment, separated from God.

•  The Christian’s mandate is to “make disciples” (Matt. 28:19-20). It is our solemn and joyful responsibility to start this process by discipling our own families, through the generations, so that the Gospel may be proclaimed to the uttermost parts of the world.
